When we launched the new website for Samford Museum, the brief was straightforward — create a modern, accessible website supported by grant funding.
But as always, we believe in going a little further.
Instead of building a simple static shop page, we developed a functional catalogue-style online store. Visitors can now browse products, submit orders, and either collect and pay at the Museum or arrange postage directly. It gives flexibility without over-complicating operations — perfect for a volunteer-run organisation.
We also continue to provide complimentary website editing support, ensuring the team can focus on what they do best: preserving and sharing Samford’s history.
The Results Since Launch
Since going live, the impact has been significant. Mike Hannon, the President, remarked:
-
Australia Day attendance increased by 25% compared to 2025, following promotion on the new website.
-
Sales of the Samford Reminiscences books have increased considerably thanks to improved online visibility.
-
New schools have booked visits for 2026.
-
The Museum’s Blacksmith — who works on the first Sunday of each month — has seen a marked increase in turnover and is consistently busy making copper rings and bracelets for children.
-
The Museum has received numerous positive visitor reviews from locals and travellers alike.
For a community organisation, those outcomes matter. More visitors. More engagement. More sustainability.
Why This Matters
Grant-funded websites aren’t just about ticking boxes.
When structured correctly, they:
-
Improve community visibility
-
Increase attendance at events
-
Support fundraising and merchandise sales
-
Help attract sponsors and partnerships
-
Strengthen long-term viability
We are proud to support local organisations like Samford Museum and to see tangible results from thoughtful digital strategy.
This is what good web design should do — not just look nice, but actively support growth.
